Harry (Brett Tucker) and Joss’ (Jes Macallan) relationship will become complicated by the drama in the “Mistresses” Season 3 finale. ABC

Everyone’s favorite summer drama will make its way back to the small screen Monday night. And according to a new sneak-peek video of “Mistresses,” the hit ABC series will kick off on a seriously dark note.

A Season 4 promo video of the sizzling sudser reveals Joss (Jes Macallan) will experience a disturbing flashback from when Wilson (Jarod Joseph) held her at gunpoint in the Season 3 finale. In the sneak peek, viewers see just how Calista’s (Jennifer Esposito) assistant tortured Joss after an unlocked door triggers her post-traumatic stress disorder.

In the troubling flashback, viewers see Wilson throwing Joss to the floor before aggressively tying her up with ropes. And even though a year has passed from the night Joss was captured by Calista’s killer assistant, according to the Season 4 premiere synopsis, she’ll still be forced to relive those painful memories.

After uncovering that her door has been unlocked, Joss quickly calls the authorities, alerting them that an intruder is lurking in her home.

“I think someone has broken into my house. I don’t know if they’re still here but please send ...,” she says just as a mysterious figure jumps out, surprising her.

But what if the intruder was someone Joss knew — like her boyfriend, Harry (Brett Tucker)? According to the synopsis for episode 1, titled “The New Girls,” Harry and Joss will attempt to take the next step in their relationship, “but trouble may be ahead as Joss isn’t quite healed from her past.”

Could the drama that went down in Season 3 hinder Joss and Harry from being able to move forward as a couple? Sound off with your theories in the comments section below.

“Mistresses” will return with its fourth season on Monday, May 30, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
