Harry Treadaway as Brady
Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) and the police continue to hunt Brady (Harry Treadaway) in the Season 1 finale of “Mr. Mercedes.” Audience Network

The hunt for Brady continues in the Season 1 finale of “Mr. Mercedes.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 10 of the Audience Network series, suspicions that Brady (Harry Treadaway) is still alive and at large are confirmed when another murder victim is discovered.

After securing a warrant of arrest for Brady in Season 1, episode 9, the police immediately surrounded his house with a fully armed SWAT team. Brady, who was expecting the arrival of the authorities, used his remote control invention, Thing 2, to set off the ice cream truck parked in front of his home. When the truck started to flash lights and music, the SWAT team was forced to shoot up the vehicle, only to find the Mercedes killer’s signature smiley face with an audio clip of its wicked laugh.

The cops then swarmed the house and found several explosives in the basement where every computer were ticking a countdown. Despite orders to immediately clear the house, Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) and his former partner Pete (Scott Lawrence) made their way to the bedroom, where they saw a guy who appeared to be Brady embracing Deborah’s (Kelly Lynch) corpse in bed.

Although the detectives saw the clown mask used by the Mercedes killer at the foot of the bed, Hodges wanted to get closer to verify Brady’s body. That, however, didn’t happen as Hodges needed to evacuate the house when the fire started to engulf the property. While Pete was convinced that the man in bed was Brady, Hodges wasn’t so sure.

In the trailer for the season finale, Hodges continues to suspect that the man in bed wasn’t Brady. “Brady Hartsfield wasn’t the type who just slinks away and kills himself,” Hodges says in the promo clip.

Hodges’ suspicion that Brady is still out there is confirmed when he learns from Pete that the police found a hidden door in the basement of Brady’s house. The authorities also learns about Robi’s (Robert Stanton) murder, making them one step closer to finding out that the man in bed was actually the corpse of Brady’s supervisor.

Elsewhere in the trailer, the police believe that Supreme Electronix could be Brady’s next target, so a group of bomb specialists is dispatched to survey the store.

The opening night of Edmund Mills Arts Center is also teased in the promo clip. As Harvard-bound Jerome (Jharrel Jerome) speaks onstage, Hodges sparks chaos among the crowd when he suddenly pulls out his gun and points it at a bald man in a wheelchair. Could this mystery man be Brady? Or, is he just an innocent guy who unfortunately becomes a victim of Hodges’ paranoia?

“Mr. Mercedes” Season 1 finale, titled “Jibber-Jibber Chicken Dinner,” airs on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. EDT on Audience Network. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
