As anticipation continues to grow around the Princess Diana biopic "Diana," the first stills from the movie have been released, including a lovely poster showing Naomi Watts as the late royal icon.
Watts almost perfectly resembles Princess Diana in the poster, right down to the her short haircut and peaceful pose. Watts wears a blue gown and a gorgeous pearl necklace with matching earrings.
The ring pictured on her finger is similar to the one Prince William gave her when he proposed to her.
A trailer for the film that was released several weeks ago fueled even more excitement about "Diana."
Diana Spencer passed away in 1997 but she has certainly remained a legendary figure worldwide. The movie, directed by Olivier Hirschbiegel, focuses on the final years of her life, leading up to her death in a tragic Paris car accident.
The Daily Mail reports that Watts spent six weeks with a speech coach and gained access to Diana's actual wardrobe for the film.
The Huffington Post reports earlier this year that the movie's creators had to cut a deal with two photography agencies during filming to cut down on the number of paparazzi interfering with shoots.
“We knew we would have to deal with the situation, so we got out in front of it,” the film’s rep told The Hollywood Reporter.
Diana is scheduled for a September release.
