Linda Chase, 72, and her live-in boyfriend of 10-years, Charles Zigler, 67, must have really enjoyed watching NASCAR together -- because when he died, she continued to watch the races with him.

The New York Daily News reports that the dead body remained in a chair in their Michigan home because she didn't want to be alone.

Chase revealed to police that she kept Zigler's body clean and dressed, and that she talked to his body when they watched NASCAR races on T.V. While the 72-year-old beliees that her boyfriend only passed away this past December, officials believe his death occurred 18 months ago, around Christmas 2010.

According to Linda Chase, he just fell asleep. The woman claimed that his body did not smell bad.

It's not that I'm heartless...I didn't want to be alone. He was the only guy who was ever nice to me, she had told the Jackson Citizen Patriot.

Jackson, Michigan police discovered the man's mummified body in the living room chair last week. The police were called after Zigler's family members went to check on him after not hearing from him for an extended period of time. Yahoo Sports reports that when family members got in touch with Chase she reportedly told them that Zigler was gone.

Although it's believed that Zigler died of natural causes, Chase still isn't off the hook. The woman has been cashing her deceased boyfriend's social security checks. Although she has not been arrested, she is currently being investigated for financial freud.

I'm probably going to prison, she admitted. I told them the truth. I didn't lie about that.
