Nasdaq fell more than 1 percent on Friday as stocks extended declines on disappointing Chinese economic data and renewed concerns about Spain's rising borrowing costs.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 92.11 points, or 0.71 percent, at 12,894.47. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 11.35 points, or 0.82 percent, at 1,376.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 32.47 points, or 1.06 percent, at 3,023.08.
