Snow
This doesn't have to be you! Spend your snow day inside with some Netflix movies. Reuters

The snow might be keeping you in this weekend, but it shouldn’t stop you from having a good time. Drop the shovel and grab some hot chocolate, because we’ve rounded up the best Netflix movies to watch on a snow day:

“Dead Snow”

This is just what the doctor ordered if you’re looking for a horror flick. “Dead Snow” is about a group of friends who embark on a snowy weekend getaway that gets interrupted by Nazi zombies. And now's the perfect time to watch it, because the sequel, “Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead,” is set to hit Netflix on Feb. 7.

“Snowpiercer”

“Snowpiercer” is on our list partly because it has the word “snow” in it but also because Chris Evans stars in it. The 2013 post-apocalypse flick follows the last people on earth, “confined to a train circling the globe.”

“Secret State of North Korea”

You’ve probably already watched “The Interview,” so why not watch a documentary on North Korea that's actually informative?

“The Grey”

If Liam Neeson can survive a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness with a couple miniature bottles of liquor, then you can survive a couple inches of snow.

“Frozen Ground”

Nicolas Cage can make any afternoon fun. The actor stars alongside Vanessa Hudgens, John Cusack and Dean Norris in this movie about an Alaska state trooper who enlists the help of a 17-year-old prostitute to find a serial killer. (Classic Nicolas Cage.)

“American Beauty”

If you’re going through Kevin Spacey withdrawal, then go back and watch “American Beauty.” The award-winning drama is the perfect thing to hold “House of Cards” fans over until Season 3 premieres on Netflix on Feb. 27.

“Cast Away”

Grab an old volleyball from the garage and pretend you’re on your own sunny island … or just watch Tom Hanks in “Cast Away.”

“30 for 30: The U Part 2”

Get your head in the game for Super Bowl Sunday. Netflix has an ESPN documentary about the University of Miami football team’s 2001 national championship win.

“Golden Winter”

This is a must-watch for the kids. “Golden Winter” is about a runaway young boy who “befriends a pack of homeless puppies.” The oddball group helps stop a bank robbery, and “the boy tries to find a family to adopt them all.”

“Winter Wonderland For Your Home”

If it didn’t snow in your area, don’t fret -- this Netflix option offers “snowy scenery for your television.”

“Fireplace For Your Home”

If you loved “Winter Wonderland For Your Home,” then you definitely won’t want to miss “Fireplace For Your Home.” Enjoy a fire, without the risk of fire.
