If rumors are to be believed then a Sprint iPhone 5 may arrive this fall. The smartphone is expected to arrive sometime in September this year.

Piper Jaffray analyst Christopher Larsen has said that the iPhone 5 will run on more networks, specifically Sprint and T-Mobile.

About 1.5 million Sprint iPhone 5s are expected to be sold in the next quarter. Analysts have predicted that Apple will sell nearly 30 million iPhone 5s in the fourth quarter -- with Verizon selling up to 4 million smartphones and AT&T selling nearly 5 million units, according to one report.

The iPhone 5, however, is already facing competition from Google's Android smartphone. The company is reportedly producing 400,000 test units. The device is expected to arrive with an improved A5 processor in the range of 1.2-1.5 GHz, and will have an aluminum metal backing of the original iPhone, instead of the current glass surface back piece.

Other features include a dual-LED 8 MP camera with 1080p video playback with panoramic photo capture camera, a bigger-edge-to-edge 3.7- to 4-inch curved glass screen and improved speech recognition features. The iOS 5 will arrive with the iPhone 5 and may also have near field communication technology.
