Every year the Blue Moon Burger Bash brings together some of the country’s best chefs to flip patties and serve their own creative versions of the classic American burger. That takes a lot of beef, and for this year's event in New York, it was provided by Pat Lafrieda Meats, with 10 percent of the profits going to community-based organizations to end hunger.

Thousands of excited foodies attended the Friday-night event as part of the weekend-long New York City Wine and Food Festival, sampling burger creations featuring everything from surf and turf to bacon to tater tots and chili sauce. The chefs aimed to wow guests, hoping to earn tokens to win the most coveted prize of the evening: the Blue Moon People’s Choice Award.

This year it was a tie, as defending champ Josh Capon shared the honor with the crowd-pleasing Guy Fieri, who whipped up his own unique Bacon Mac and Cheese Burger. The event brimmed with all the trimmings a keen foodie might expect, including cold Blue Moon beer, wine and, of course, a bounty of burgers.

No one walked away hungry, after trying some of the best burgers from celebrity chefs as part of a well-rounded culinary experience under the bright lights of the big city.
