News Limited, the Australian arm of News Corporation, has completely acquired the newspaper, magazine and online assets of Federal Publishing Company (FPC) for an undisclosed amount on Monday.

The proposal from last November to buy FPC was given clearance in January by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

It had already proposed by buy FPC's 25 magazine titles, for about $180 million.

The buyout of FPC's 25 magazines includes Vogue, Notebook, Delicious, Super Good Ideas, Australian Good Taste and Gardening Australia.

It also includes 6 online properties. Among them are vogue.com.au, notebook.com.au and villagevoice.com.au.

The buyout transforms News Corp. into one of Australia's largest magazine publishers. It also strengthens its position in Australia as the largest and most successful publisher of community newspapers.
