  • "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is the latest installment of the hit game series "Assassin's Creed"
  • The game was released last year
  • Rumors about the next "Assassin's Creed" game have been rife online recently

A new set of details about the next "Assassin's Creed" game, including its release window and some information about its gameplay, has been leaked online recently.

Reliable "Assassin's Creed" insider and YouTuber j0nathan shared earlier this week that the upcoming "AC" installment is more likely a "The Last of Us" or "Uncharted" sort of game rather than a "Valhalla" or other past "Assassin's Creed" titles. The insider claimed that when the game was in development, it centered on the former King of England, Richard Lionheart.

Unlike the previous game installments, the next "Assassin's Creed" title would reportedly depart from the usual open-ended, open-world gameplay. Instead, according to the insider, it would introduce semi-linear gameplay. He added that every level of the game would feature a semi-open world.

Additionally, j0nathan noted the next "Assassin's Creed" title would include the Third Crusade and King Richard's journey back to England. Instead of the king himself, players would apparently reprise the role of his bodyguard. The said game would unfold from two different perspectives, with a couple of characters soon crossing each other's paths, the insider noted. "Assassin's Creed" fans could also look forward to seeing a female assassin in the upcoming title.

Currently, it is unknown if this said game is still in the works since j0nathan claimed that it might have been put on hold or scrapped. It could be because the team handling its development has been rumored to be working on the DLC for "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," j0nathan noted.

He also mentioned that even if the game resumes development, it is doubtful that fans would get to see a new "Assassin's Creed" game this year or in 2022. In other words, fans might have to wait until 2023 for the next "Assassin's Creed" title.

The insider earned his mark in the gaming community when he accurately revealed details about "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" long before their official announcement, according to Comicbook. He also leaked information about the "Assassin's Creed" Meteor DLC in the past.

While j0nathan is a reliable source, it is worth noting that the details he shared are not official. Fans should therefore temper their expectations about the next "Assassin's Creed" title. They should also take this new set of details with a pinch of salt.
