Heading into Week 13 of the 2016 NFL season, several teams find themselves in virtual “must-win” situations in order to make a playoff run. More than one-third of the teams on the upcoming schedule are within one game of .500 with just five games left in the regular season.

Week 13 begins with a key matchup between the NFL’s top team and a team that’s about to fall out of the postseason race. The Dallas Cowboys and their league leading 10-1 record are 3.5-point road favorites against the Minnesota Vikings, who are one game out of first place in the NFC North.

Two other road favorites in Week 13 are one game under .500 and fighting for their playoff lives. The Philadelphia Eagles dropped to 5-6 with a loss on Monday night, but they are 2.5-point favorites in their visit to Cincinnati. The Indianapolis Colts are one game out of first place in the AFC South, and they are one-point favorites against the New York Jets.

The New England Patriots are easily the biggest favorites of the week, giving the visiting Los Angeles Rams 13.5 points. No other team is even favored by more than a touchdown.

The Seattle Seahawks are the only home favorite in the three prime-time games, hosting “Sunday Night Football.” They are giving seven points to the Carolina Panthers, who can’t lose the rest of the season if they want any chance of making the playoffs.

The matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons is one of just two games that features two teams that are currently in the playoffs. Both teams are still in the running for a first-round postseason bye in their respective conferences. The New York Giants bring the NFC’s second-best record to Pittsburgh, but the Steelers aren’t currently in the playoffs because the Baltimore Ravens hold the tiebreaker atop the AFC North.

The Cleveland Browns can’t lose again since they are one of two teams with a bye in Week 13. The Tennessee Titans also have the week off.
