Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey still aren’t divorced because the TV personality is reportedly stalling. A new report claims that Cannon, who filed for divorce from Carey in 2014, has not signed the paperwork that would officially end their marriage.

Sources connected to the former couple told TMZ that Carey has been trying to get her estranged husband to sign their divorce papers for almost a year. The outlet claims that the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star still loves Carey and isn’t ready to let her go yet. Sources also told the outlet that Cannon isn’t okay with her marrying her fiancé, James Packer.

Packer and Carey got engaged last year after seven months of dating. The pair is said to be planning to wed this summer on the island of Barbuda in the Caribbean — that is, if Cannon and Carey can finalize their divorce. According to TMZ, the “Obsessed” singer is frustrated over the holdup and wants to end things with Cannon as soon as possible.

It appears Packer is also in the throes of finalizing a divorce. TMZ reported in January that the businessman is still legally wed to his estranged wife, Erica Packer. They separated in 2013, but laws in Australia have slowed down the divorce process. Erica has reportedly moved on and is dating Seal.

While Carey has clearly moved on following the split, Cannon hasn’t been seriously linked to anyone since separating from his ex. In January, he opened up about marriage, telling DuJour magazine that he doubts he will ever tie the knot again. “I feel like marriage isn’t for everyone,” he explained. “A friend of mine put it the funniest way. He said, ‘If you heard that there was a 50/50 chance of living or dying when you jump out of a plane, you probably wouldn’t go skydiving.’”

He added: “There’s like a 50/50 chance of marriage working. If it didn’t work out for you the first time, and you still survived it, you probably shouldn’t do it again.”
