Nick Jonas performed his new single, “Levels,” from his third upcoming solo album at the VMA pre-show on Sunday. The pop singer danced his way to the red carpet, followed with a bunch of flash-popping paparazzis, and performed in style with VMA pre-show co-host, Kelly Osbourne. The music video for the song had also been launched to the amusement of Jonas’s fans.

In between singing the verses of his song, the former Jonas Brothers’ member greeted the crowd before he was joined in with both the background dancers and adoring fans in a happy dance party, which ended with confetti, People reported.

Two weeks ago, Jonas announced on his Instagram account about his upcoming first live performance of “Levels” at the VMS pre-show. Jonas’s performance of his upbeat track was the right start for an entertaining show.

Jonas reportedly described his “Levels” music video as one of his strongest ones. “It continues to set me up as a solo artist. It gives me a better idea of the looks I’m trying to go for,” he added.

The singer also stated that he thinks that “Levels” is similar to his earlier singles, namely “Chains” and “Jealous,” where the song leads him to a different musical path, with a bit of soul and funk elements in it.

Meanwhile, Jonas also proved to his fans that his singing styles are not actually limited to a certain type of music, but that he can actually perform a wide variety of genre. At the recently held Time Warner Cable and Lifebeat’s MTV Video Music Awards concert that was held in Los Angeles, Jonas sang his own rendition of Demi Lovato’s cover of “Let It Go” from the movie, “Frozen,” while he was backstage, E!Online reported.

Jonas was recently linked to Kendall Jenner, but the musician confirmed that he is not seeing anyone at this time.
