After two years together, Nick Jonas and Olivia Culpo are going their separate ways, reported Entertainment Tonight Monday. Sources told ET that the two have split and that Culpo was “heartbroken” from the break up.

Rumors of trouble in paradise started circulating when the Hollywood couple hadn’t been seen together publicly in for more than a month. Their last appearance was at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on May 17. ET sources also shared that, though the two were both in New York City last week for work reasons, Jonas and Culpo stayed in separate hotels.

It seems the couple’s relationship has been “rocky for a bit,” revealed a friend of Culpo's to Us Weekly. The former Miss Universe shared a cryptic message via Twitter Sunday, possibly hinting at her relationship woes. "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did," she wrote, citing Maya Angelou. "But people will never forget how you made them feel."

An insider told E!News that the break up has been a sensitive matter for the couple: "Both of them still love and care about each other and only want the best for one another," the insider added. "[But] the long distance and ups-and-downs have been weighing on the two of them lately, and it has not been easy, but they know this is the best decision for them at this time."

Just last week, Jonas admitted during a Good Morning America appearance that being in a long-distance relationship was “tough,” but "it's all good." Jonas elaborated: "Dealing with that is always an interesting thing, but it's all good," he said. "We're both busy and young and enjoying life, so it's going well."

Jonas and Culpo met during the 2013 Miss USA competition and began dating in August that year. The two were inseparable during the nearly two years they were together, and the pop singer’s hit single “Jealous” was written about Culpo.
