Nicki Minaj recently dropped a new six-minute track titled “The Pinkprint Freestyle” via her Twitter account.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the 33-year-old singer/rapper first posted a cryptic tweet suggesting that she’s contemplating on doing something on social media. Fans patiently waited for Minaj’s surprise. An hour later, the “Anaconda” singer tweeted a link to SoundCloud with the title of her newest song.

“The Pinkprint Freestyle” came more than a year after Minaj released her album “The Pinkprint.”

Meanwhile, Minaj’s fans immediately took to social media to express their happiness over the singer’s surprise. Some fans said that the long wait for Minaj’s new song was definitely worth it, while many were very happy with the way the singer’s voice sounded on the track. One fan also called Minaj a music legend, while another fan called her “queen.” However, some couldn’t help but wonder whether or not Minaj is planning to release another emotional album because she did so after releasing a song with very controversial lyrics.

In other news, “The Pinkprint Freestyle” came just days after Minaj collaborated with Ariana Grande for the music video for “Side By Side,” which they also performed live at the Video Music Awards 2016 on Aug. 28. According to Rolling Stone, Max Martin co-wrote and co-produced the upbeat song. Their live performance opened with Grande sitting on a bicycle with four other backup dancers. Minaj appeared a few seconds later wearing a pink spandex suit. She was accompanied by four hunky guys who were lifting weights.

“Side by Side” isn’t the first collaboration between Grande and Minaj. In 2014, they worked together on Jessie J’s single “Bang Bang.” Grande also sang with Minaj in the latter’s single “Get On Your Knees,” which is part of her "The Pinkprint" album.
