Ever since Nina Dobrev exited “The Vampire Diaries,” fans of the CW series were left wondering how her character, Elena Gilbert, and Ian Somerhalder’s Damon Salvatore would reconnect in the finale of the show. After all, there wasn’t proper closure between the onscreen lovers back in Season 6. However, it seems the 27-year-old actress does not have plans to reunite with her “TVD” castmates.

On Monday, Dobrev took to social media to proudly share the new poster for her upcoming movie “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” that also stars Vin Diesel, Ruby Rose, Deepika Padukone, Samuel L. Jackson, Tony Jaa and Kris Wu, among others. What’s quite striking about Dobrev’s post, however, was not the poster itself. Instead, some fans were intrigued by the first sentence of her caption which reads: “Now that’s a team I can work with.”

Since rumors about Dorbev’s possible return to “TVD” have become rampant these past few months, some of Dobrev’s fans were left questioning whether or not she was throwing shade at her former castmates. One fan asked: “Is this shade?” Another chimed in: “omg I was thinking the same thing too. I kind of felt a little hurt by what she said. Like what’s that suppose to mean?” Then, another continued the thread by commenting: “Hmmm ‘Vampire Diaries’ team wasn’t working out?”

Despite the comments on her post, Dobrev did not address whether or not she intentionally made the caption to slam the “Vampire Diaries” cast, which includes her ex-boyfriend Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice King, Kat Graham and many more. She instead updated her Twitter page with posts about the holiday season. In one post, Dobrev shows off her friendship with actress Jaime King by responding to the latter’s tweet about their “best photo booth contest” pics.

Dobrev also shared a wacky holiday-inspired GIF with her friends, Brooks Laich and Julianne Hough, and another one with her family. It seems Dobrev is imbibing the holiday spirit full on, and she’s also enjoying her time with her loved ones lately. Just last week, Dobrev spent time with her besties Jessica Szhor, Miles Teller, Teller’s girlfriend Keleigh Sperry and many others. They even joined forces to create an epic greeting card for the holiday season.
