Nokia might be jumping into the tablet bandwagon by June 2012, according to French newspaper LesEchos.

The report, quoting Paul Amsellem head of Nokia France, said the tablet would run on Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system. It is interesting that Microsoft has not revealed a release date for Windows 8, which is the version of the Microsoft Windows computer operating system following Windows 7 and is expected to be released sometime in 2012.

Finland-based Nokia recently launched two smartphones - Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 - powered by Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, code named as Mango.

So, it is implied that Nokia's partnership with Microsoft is gearing up as when Microsoft releases an operating system for tablets, Nokia is ready with a hardware device.
