Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear swings to a third-quarter net profit of $161 million versus a $20 million loss last year, partly on an 18 percent jump in revenue per tire.

Goodyear is building an advanced carbon-fiber blimp that offers better maneuverability and speed, according to jalopnik.com.

Designed by a German company, the blimp will be the newest generation of Goodyear’s zeppelin fleet. The new fleet will use a carbon fiber and aluminum frame wrapped in a polyester envelope.
