New Yorkers no longer have to fear for the safety of their iPhones and iPads in the subways. After a 16 percent increase in subway theft, the NYPD will be increasing security on trains and platforms.

Undercover police officers patrolling the subways are expected to double, according to DNAInfo.com. Officers are reportedly to pose as a typical subway victim, someone who is napping or appears drunk.

DNAInfo.com reports that police officers will be undergoing training for their new patrols.
