Obama Administration Changes: Who Left, Where Did They Go And What's Next For Them?

In the months since President Obama's second inauguration ceremony on the steps of Capitol Hill, Americans have seen plenty of new faces in the administration.

Many of the president's key Cabinet members and staffers - from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and communications director Anita Dunn - have moved on. Such transitions are typical for two-term presidencies, though the Obama White House has seen a lot of turnover. Two press secretaries, five chiefs of staff and numerous senior advisers are just a few of the changing faces in the administration since the president took the oath of office in January 2009. Presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan each had four chiefs of staff over their two terms, George W. Bush had just two in eight years, but his father, George H.W. Bush, had three in his four years.

They leave the White House for reasons as varied as their roles.
