President Barack Obama delivered a speech on Friday at Texas A&M University to promote public service.

It is Obama's first visit to Texas since May 2008.

George W. Bush has invited president Obama to Texas A&M University in College Station and the Bush Library, to be part of a celebration honoring Bush Sr's service organiztion, Point of Light.

The event marks the 20th anniversary of Bush's 1989 speech that praised community organizations as a thousand points of light.

Several hundred protesters have gathered at Texas A&M University to protest President Barack Obama’s visit to the campus.
