About 40 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrived in Downtown Manhattan in order to express anger their anger at Law and Order: SVU.

The television show had planned to recreate some of the events that transpired during the Occupy Wall Street. They borrowed Foley Square for the set, constructing tents and setting up tables for the shoot.

After rumors began circulating of possible interference by demonstrators, the New York Post reported about 40 police officers showed up in preparation for a possible showdown. They set up barricades around the set as protesters arrived just after midnight. However, the crew began taking down the tents and set and the NYPD announced the filming permit had been revoked by the city.

They were exploiting the movement,'' said one demonstrator, according to the New York Post. Another demonstrator complained that the producers and crew tried co-op the movement, but they were co-opted.''
