The Ohio State-Gonzaga features some very interesting matchups, notably how Gonzaga freshman guard Kevin Pangos, the team's leading scorer, matches up with noted Ohio State defender Aaron Craft. Pangos shoots the ball very well from outside the arc - as do most of the Gonzaga players - and it will be crucial for Ohio State to slow him down.
The game will ultimately come down to whether an inside-out offensive strategy or an outside the arc strategy comes out on top. Ohio State loves to pound the ball inside to star center Jared Sullinger and will look to control the tempo. Gonzaga relies on three-pointers to win and will look to get Pangos, Gary Bell, and Elias Harris some open looks.
The Buckeyes come into the game as the heavy favorite, but Gonzaga showed in a 77-54 beatdown of West Virginia that it is more than capable of putting up some points. Ohio State has the edge across the board here with Craft, Sullinger, and William Buford, but if Gonzaga gets hot from the perimeter, anything could happen.
