"Once Upon A Time"

It appears that Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue is having a good month. Recently cast as fairytale character Captain Hook in the second season of ABC’s “Once Upon A Time,” the actor has been upgraded to a series regular before he even hit the screen.

According to Entertainment Weekly, O’Donoghue had initially signed onto the Sunday night drama as a reoccurring role, but the actor must have really hooked the producers on set.

Colin O’Donoghue is set to make his first appearance on “Once Upon A Time” in episode 4, “The Crocodile,” set to air Oct. 21. While viewers haven’t caught the one-handed “Peter Pan” villain interacting with characters on-screen, they have received a first look at O’Donoghue in character. A first look at the Irish actor dressed as Captain Hook appeared on EW.com, and fans definitely liked what the saw. The comment board quickly filled with remarks from readers like:

“Wow! Is he attractive!”

“Is it hot in here or is it just him?”

“Captain Hook indeed. Damn he is hot! I would like it if he became a regular on this series. Thank you.”

It appears that fans got their wish for more Captain Hook time before he even made his “Once Upon A Time” debut.

Co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis when Captain Hook does first appear he is going to “tie in rather quickly” and have “interesting relationships with a few of our characters.” As for if the new “Once Upon A Time” character will be causing mayhem as a villain this season, Kitsis told the Huffington Post that, “If I remember from ‘Peter Pan,’ [Captain Hook] wasn’t the nicest of guys.” But fans need not worry about another big bad replacing the evil Queen Regina. “I think he is misunderstood,” Kitsis added of Captain Hook. “He has a complicated backstory.”
