Mark your calendars, “Once Upon a Time” fans. Although Season 4 of the ABC series is not returning until Mar. 1, viewers will receive a special treat on Friday, Jan. 23 to help hold them over.

The series released the special (and mysterious) news on Twitter Monday with a brand new promo poster. “Something magical is coming on Friday,” the caption of the photo read. “Tease 1 of 4 … #OnceUponATime.”

The promo poster features a drawing of a hook – which more than likely belongs to fan-favorite pirate, Captain Killian Hook (Colin O’Donoghue). The drawing is on what looks like an old piece of stained parchment.

When “Once Upon a Time” viewers last left off, Hook finally caught a break after getting tangled up with Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) earlier in Season 4. The dark one had got his hands on Hook’s heart, making the pirate a slave to his evil doings. But that wasn’t the only thing that Rumpelstiltskin had in store for him … he was also planning on sacrificing Hook in order to consume more dark magic and break his bond to the magic dagger. Fortunately Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) were able to figure out Rumpel’s deadly plan before it was too late. Belle banished Rumpel from town while Emma reunited the pirate with his heart.

Captain Hook is an obvious player in this new “Once Upon a Time” news, however it might not have to do with the ABC show. Since the promo photo has the Marvel comic’s logo in the left hand corner, odds are high that the Friday announcement has to do with the “OUAT” graphic novels.

The first “Once Upon a Time” graphic novel, “Shadow of the Queen,” was released on Sept. 3, 2013. The comic told the tale of Regina (Lana Parrilla) and the Huntsman (Jamie Dornan), a man who became her slave after she ripped out his heart. Fans could potentially be getting a follow up graphic novel – this time involving Captain Hook.
