One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson is ready to be a father, but not a husband. The "Drag Me Down" singer is reported to have separated from his pregnant girlfriend, Briana Jungwirth, although some reports say the two were never a couple to begin with.

According to Life & Style, Tomlinson has broken up with Jungwirth, who is expected to have his baby in January. Jungwirth was "hoping" to even get engaged to the 23-year-old before the baby came.

"They had been trying to work things out the past few weeks during his One Direction tour," a source told Life & Style. "He even introduced Briana to his mom, Johannah."

Tomlinson has said he will support Jungwirth throughout the process and will be involved in the child's life. In July, People said the two met after Tomlinson broke up with long term girlfriend Eleanor Calder this past March. The baby was a "surprise" to them, but a mutual friend said they embraced it.

"Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer," the friend said.

While it's being reported he is no longer dating Jungwirth, MTV reports that Tomlinson and Jungwirth never identified themselves as a couple. Instead, the singer has been linked to “The Originals” star Danielle Campbell. The two were spotted getting milkshakes together in what appeared to be a date on Sunday in Hollywood, according to E! Online.

Tomlinson has had a very busy couple of months with One Direction. The group released a new album on Nov. 13 called "Made in the A.M." which will be their last album before a hiatus next year. They played their final U.S. show this past weekend in Los Angeles, but during an interview with E! Online, Tomlin's One Direction band mate, Liam Payne, reassured fans that they will be back.

"There's more to come. We obviously want to tour all these songs. We love them so," Payne said.
