OnePlus has officially confirmed that it will be announcing its 2016 flagship, OnePlus 3, on June 14 in the U.S. In China, it will be unveiled on same day. The company has also confirmed that OnePlus 3 will be available for purchase without invitations from the same launch date in the respective countries.

OnePlus has released a teaser on Weibo, the microblogging website of China, that the OnePlus 3 VR launch event will be held at Shenzhen, China at 10 a.m. local time (12:30 p.m. ET).

The OnePlus 3 smartphone will be available for buying from the launch date. Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, has confirmed on OnePlus forums that the company has put an end to its invite-only system for purchasing the OnePlus 3.

Those who have availed the Loop VR headset will be able to view the launch event in virtual reality. In order to view the VR event, users are required to install the “Loop app” available at the Google Play Store. OnePlus fans, who have ordered the Loop VR headset, will be available to place an order for OnePlus 3 through the company’s virtual reality shopping center.

OnePlus 3 is pegged to be available in two storage versions. The 32 GB model will be featuring 4 GB RAM whereas the 64 GB variant will be coming with 6 GB of RAM. Both the models will feature 5.5-inch full HD display and Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Leaked renders have revealed that the smartphone will be sporting a full metal design. It is expected to feature a rear camera of 16-megapixel and a selfie shooter of 8-megapixel. It will be equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery. The 32 GB variant is rumored to be priced around $310 whereas the 64 GB variant may sell for $385.
