Who’s ready to sink their teeth into more supernatural drama? We know we are, especially since “The Originals” went on a much-too-long hiatus following its recent cliffhanger of an episode.

In the last Season 2 installment of the CW series, fans watched as Rebekah (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) suffered at the hands of the wicked witch Eva Sinclair as the sorceress tried to take back control of her body. For those who need a quick refresher, Rebekah’s soul is currently inhabiting the body of an evil enchantress, a witch who is responsible for slaughtering handfuls of children before sucking them dry of their powers -- and let’s just say the people of New Orleans aren’t too thrilled to see the butcher roaming freely throughout their city and killing once again.

Episode 17, titled “Exquisite Corpse,” will explore the question of whether or not the Mikaelson clan can help save Rebekah from the fleshy prison she’s currently residing in. In fact, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be so desperate to free his beloved sister’s soul that he’ll be “forced to put aside his mistrust” for his long-lost sister Freya (Riley Voelkel), according to the synopsis. But it doesn’t look like Freya, an allegedly powerful witch, will be able to provide much help considering the task is more daunting then she original perceived.

Freya explained to her brother in a sneak peek clip that if Eva is killed before Rebekah’s spirit is freed then Klaus’ dear sister “will be gone forever.” And although it will be tough for Rebekah’s siblings to whip up a spell to extract her soul, it seems like the more challenging task will be to keep the towns folk from slicing Eva’s throat.

“Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will learn more about Eva’s violent past from Josephine (Meg Foster),” the synopsis teased, adding that the “Pretty Little Liar” guest star will then make a “startling revelation about Hayley’s future.” Could the surprising admission involve baby Hope who is currently being hunted by Klaus’ evil Aunt Dahlia (Claudia Black)? We have a strange and eerie feeling it might be.

The summary for the forthcoming installment concludes that as time begins running out to save Rebekah, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) will turn to Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), Eva’s husband, to help take down his wife who is responsible for the mass killings throughout New Orleans. But their plan will take an “unexpected turn” when Eva shows her foes just how strong she really is.
