Hold onto your hats, “Frozen” fans, because it looks like Princess Anna may be making her way to the small screen.
“Once Upon a Time” creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis dished just last month that they would love to bring the stars of the award-winning animinated film “Frozen," voice actors Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa), onto their hit ABC series, and now, their dreams just might become a reality.
“That would be unbelievable,” Bell, 33, told E! News at a recent press event when prompted to address the idea of her animated character, Princess Anna, joining the live-action, fairytale program. “I love that character of Ana so much. She is so exactly who I wanted to see when I was 5-years-old so she’s really close to my heart,” she added.
While it is unclear if/when “Frozen” would be incorporated into “OUAT,” with Bell's recent approval, the rumored plans may just come to fruition if the series’ creators have anything to say about it. “Obviously we'd be dying to do 'Frozen,'" Kitsis revealed at a D23 fan event in March.
Horowitz agreed, saying, “In a world that is filled with some of the most iconic fairy-tale characters of all time, we think that there's plenty of room in Storybrooke for some fresh faces.”
According to Horowitz, the star of Disney’s 2012 animated flick, “Brave,” Merida, famous for her archery skills and Scottish heritage, might also find her way onto the program. “Whether we get to them or not, characters like Anna, Elsa and Merida feel like they could be slotted in,” he said.
“Once Upon a Time,” currently in its third season on ABC (Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT), follows some of Disney’s most popular fairytale characters on their journey living in our world after an evil curse tore them away from their beloved home, the enchanted forest. The series stars actress Jennifer Morrison (“House”) as savior Emma Swan and daughter to Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas). Lana Parilla stars as the (former) evil queen, Regina.
