The New York Yankees may have been shaken by the injury to starting pitcher Bartolo Colon's left hamstring, but today they received some good news from Tampa: Phil Hughes pitched 3 2/3 innings in an intrasquad game and struck out six, setting down the first eight hitters he faced. The right-hander went on the disabled list on April 15 with inflammation of the right shoulder.

Hughes is scheduled to pitch for Single-A Yankees affiliate the Staten Island Yankees on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Brooklyn Cyclones' MCU Park in Coney Island.
