A 30-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona, has been accused and is now facing charges of biting and bending his infant son, endangering his life.

The 6-month-old baby was immediately hospitalized — with what doctors say "not survivable" injuries — after his father, Robert Anthony Resendiz, allegedly bent him over because he was crying, authorities claim, reported CW-affiliated TV station, KTLA News.

Reports state police officials were dispatched to a home in 12th Street and Camelback Road on Dec. 19 where they found an unresponsive child, not breathing.

According to a report in Fox 10 Phoenix the infant is not expected to survive. “The injuries are not survivable,” doctors told police.

Police reports state that the infant who was admitted to the Phoenix Children's Hospital had a liver laceration, wrist fracture, laceration of the pancreas and pattern bruising on his thigh.

Resendiz was the one who alerted 911 when the child stopped breathing. Though Resendiz claimed that he found the child in this condition when he woke up, the boy’s mother contradicted his story.

After further investigation, Resendiz admitted to pressing the infant’s leg together over his head and bending his body to stop his crying. The police report says that Resendiz placed “pressure on the victim and did not release pressure until the victim had stopped moving and was limp."

Reports also state that he also admitted to biting the 6-month-old baby twice because he was frustrated. Resendiz is currently being held at Maricopa County Jail on a $250,000 bond on child abuse charges and is expected to appear in court Dec. 27.

In a fairly similar incident of brutality on an infant from November, an Army medic was charged and arrested in connection with raping and murdering one of his 9-month-old twin daughters. Police at Cindy Jo Court responded to a call by a family in Clarksville, Tennessee, where they performed CPR on the infant, who had been strangled and raped. The girl’s father was identified as Christopher Paul Conway, a 22-year-old Army combat medic stationed at Fort Campbell, along the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Conway was charged with aggravated child rape and homicide. His other daughter was removed from the home and is currently in state custody.

In another incident, a Rancho Bernardo man, Henry Lopez was charged with killing his two children and for negligence from a fire accident in October.
Authorities had rescued Lopez from the fire and during further investigations, they found out that he was intoxicated. Authorities also found a melted whiskey bottle next to his bed, NBC7 San Diego News reported.

Lopez appeared in court Thursday to face five felonies including two counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of child endangerment causing death and one count of reckless fire starting.

According to Deputy District Attorney Kyle Sutterly with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office Lopez drank himself to sleep and caused the fire because of his cigarette. "Essentially he drank himself to sleep in bed and passed out with a lit cigarette, which ultimately caused his condo to burn down and thus his children to die in the fire.”
