Plus-Size Model Tess Holliday Slams Robbie Tripp’s Viral Post About ‘Curvy’ Wife

Robbie Tripp’s viral post about his curvy wife did not sit well with many people, including plus-size model Tess Holliday.

Last week, Tripp shared a photo of him and his wife, Sarah, embracing each other by the beach. In a lengthy post, the “Create Rebellion” author and Huffington Post contributor expressed how proud he was of his wife and how much he loved her despite her size. Thousands of Instagram users shared and liked his post, but others found it self-serving. Holliday, 32, was one of the latter and took to the social media site to call out Tripp, as well as the people praising him for his words.

On Sunday, Holliday shared a screenshot on Instagram of a tweet that read, “guy likes curvy woman* 16,667 favs, national news. *curvy woman likes herself* 12 favs, 48 people in your mentions talking about diabetes.” In the caption, the plus-size model wrote, “This is so real. Stop giving men trophies for doing the bare minimum.”

In addition to slamming Tripp’s Instagram post, the model also shared a tweet the author allegedly wrote back in 2015. In the alleged post, Tripp threw shade at Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, for being transgender. “Born a Bruce, always a Bruce. Clothes, makeup, surgery, and public acceptance still won’t change how you came into the world,” People quoted his tweet.

In response, Holliday made it clear that she is not a fan of Tripp. “Also I’m not here for someone who says transphobic things,” she wrote, before adding the hashtags #effyourbeautystandards and #transwomenarewomen.

This comes after Tripp’s controversial Instagram post became the subject of online debate regarding whether it was feminism or fetish.

“I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side, ones who were shorter and curvier, girls that the average (basic) bro might refer to as ‘chubby’ or even ‘fat’,” he wrote. “For me, there is nothing sexier than this woman right here: thick thighs, big booty, cute little side roll, etc. Her shape and size won’t be the one featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan, but it’s the one featured in my life and in my heart.”

Some online users were outraged on behalf of his wife, finding his words to be insulting. “This is incredibly insulting to your wife. Women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful. Putting yourself on a pedestal for being with her is arrogant,” one user commented (via People).

However, Tripp was not at all bothered by the backlash. On Saturday, he shared a photo of himself on Twitter enjoying a meal at a balcony overlooking the beach. “This is what I’m currently doing while sad and sarcastic people are getting angry with their keyboard,” he wrote.
