The Pokémon GO team is greeting everyone “Happy Holidays!” And in time for Christmas, the team announced on the official Pokémon GO website today how Trainers can celebrate the holiday season with a bang in-game.

The team proudly announced that it’s Christmas event is just days away from happening. The event is going to commence on the morning of Dec. 25 and will last until Jan. 3, 2017 PST. Throughout this 10-day period, Trainers will have increased chances of hatching a Togepi. Of course, Trainers can also hatch a number of other Pokémon during this season.

To help players with all the hatching goals, PokéStops are going to reward Trainers with a single-use incubator for every Photo Disc spin. Aside from the incubators, PokéStops will also be generous enough to give players a greater chance of obtaining Eggs that contain Pokémon from the Johto region.

Meanwhile, the star of the event is still Santa Pikachu, which is simply a Pikachu sporting a Santa Hat. Players are encouraged to gather as many Pikachu candies as possible, so that they can evolve their Santa Pikachu into Raichu — one that sports the same Santa Hat. Though the Santa Pikachu is a limited-edition version, regular Pikachu candies can help in evolving a Santa Pikachu to Jolly Raichu, according to Dual Shockers.

Another special event to watch out for will commence in the afternoon of Dec. 30, 2016 and will wrap up on Jan. 8, 2017. Within this period, Trainers will get the chance to encounter and catch more of their first partner Pokémon and their Evolutions. Thus, players can expect to see more Starter Pokémon and their Evolutions from the Kanto region during the second phase of the Christmas event. This period will give them better chances at catching Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise.

To make the Christmas event even more enjoyable, the Pokémon GO team has decided to increase the effect of Lure Modules. Instead of just attracting Pokémon for 30 minutes, the Lures can now do so for up to 60 minutes or an hour.

“Pokémon GO” is a popular mobile game from Niantic Labs. It is available for download for iOS and Android devices.
