Nasdaq profit ahead of expectations

The top after-market NASDAQ gainers Wednesday were: Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Open Text Corp, ShoreTel, JDS Uniphase, Electronic Arts, Cadence Design Systems, Zynga, Kelly Services, QUALCOMM and Sina Corp.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) stock climbed 21.67 percent to $65.25 in post market trading session. The company reported first quarter adjusted net income of $96.00 million or $0.60 per share compared to $26.37 million or $0.18 per share in the same period a year-earlier and against analysts’ estimation of $0.36 per share.

Open Text Corp. (OTEX) stock surged 9.27 percent to $57.50 in post market trading session. The stock has a 52-week low of $46.34, a 52-week high of $72.32 and $3.04 billion in market capitalization.

ShoreTel, Inc. (SHOR) stock surged 6.46 percent to $7.25 in aftermarket trading session. Its second quarter net loss narrowed to $2.5 million, or $0.05 per share compared to $3.7 million or $0.08 per share in the same period last year.

JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU) stock surged 6.09 percent to $13.93 in aftermarket trading session. The company reported second quarter adjusted net income of $35.8 million or $0.15 per share on revenue of $413.1 million compared to net profit of $67.0 million or $0.29 per share on revenue of $477.2 million in the same quarter last year, while analysts’ expects net profit of $0.10 per share on revenues of $390.91 million.

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) stock gained 5.97 percent to $19.54 in aftermarket trading session. Its third quarter net loss narrowed to $205 million or $0.62 per share compared to $322 million or $0.97 per share in the same quarter last year.

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (CDNS) stock gained 5.56 percent to $11.40 in post market trading session. The company swung to fourth quarter net profit of $11 million or $0.04 per share compared to net loss of $37 million or $0.14 per share in the same quarter a year-ago.

For the first quarter, the company expects non-GAAP earnings to be in a rage of $0.14 to $0.16 per share on revenue of $305 to $315 million, while analysts’ expect the company to report quarterly net profit of $0.14 per share on revenues of $292.87 million.

Zynga Inc. (ZNGA) stock gained 5.47 percent to $11.18 in post market trading session on news that Facebook filed for an initial public offering of up to $5 billion of its Class A common stock.

Kelly Services, Inc. (KELYA) stock rose 5.2 percent to $18.00 in post market trading session. The company stock surged nearly 6 percent in regular trading session.

QUALCOMM Inc. (QCOM) stock gained 5 percent to $62.54 in post market trading session. Its first quarter net profit rose to $1.40 billion or $0.81 per share from $1.17 billion or $0.71 per share in the same period a year-ago.

For the second quarter, the company expects non-GAAP earnings to be in a range of be $0.91 to $0.97 per share on revenues of $4.6 to $5.0 billion, while analysts expect the company to report quarter earnings per share of $0.88 on revenue of $4.5 billion.

Sina Corp. (SINA) stock gained 1.5 percent to $75.00 in aftermarket trading session.
