Gainers

Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:VNDA) stock climbed 13.04 percent to $9.10 in pre-market trading. The Washington-based biopharmaceutical company announced, on Tuesday, that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted the filing and granted a priority review classification to Vanda's New Drug Application for tasimelteon, a circadian regulator for the treatment of non-24-hour disorder among the totally blind.

Array Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:ARRY) shares rose 8.95 percent to $6.82 in pre-market trading. The Summit, N.J.-based company on Tuesday announced a strategic collaboration with Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ:CELG) for an Array-invented pre-clinical development program targeting a novel inflammation pathway. 

Nuance Communications Inc (NASDAQ:NUAN) stock surged 8.75 percent to $20 in pre-market trading. The company's shares have a 52-week low of $18.00, a 52-week high of $25.89 and $5.84 billion in market capitalization.

Herbalife Ltd (NYSE:HLF) stock advanced 4.84 percent to $63.50 in pre-market trading, after the company reported a 29 percent increase in second-quarter earnings per share, or EPS, at $1.41 compared to an EPS of $1.09 in the prior quarter and raised its full-year guidance to a range of $4.83 to $4.95.

American Capital Agency Corp (NASDAQ:AGNC) stock rose 4.39 percent to $22.81 in pre-market trading. The company reported a second-quarter net income available to common shareholders of $1.83 billion or $4.61 a share, compared to a loss of $264 million or $0.88 a share in the same period last year.  

Losers

Potash Corp./Saskatchewan (NYSE:POT) fell steeply by 13.64 percent to $32.73 in pre-market trading. The company's shares have a 52-week low of $35.98, a 52-week high of $46.16 and $32.86 billion in market capitalization.

Mosaic Co (NYSE:MOS) stock fell 12.80 percent to $46.40 in pre-market trading. The company will begin trading ex-dividend on July 30, 2013. A cash-dividend payment of $0.25 per share is scheduled to be paid on August 15, 2013.

Barclays PLC (NYSE:BCS) stock declined 8.35 percent to $17.45 in pre-market trading. The company's shares dropped after news reports citing a person with direct knowledge of the situation said that the company will not get the extra time it wanted to meet regulators’ demands to boost capital.

BP plc (NYSE:BP) stock fell 4.80 percent to $41.05 in pre-market trading. The company's shares have a 52-week low of $39.50, a 52-week high of $45.45 and $137 billion in market capitalization.

Lightbridge Corp (NASDAQ:LTBR) shares fell 4.13 percent to $3.02 in pre-market trading. The company's shares rose nearly 97 percent in regular trade on Monday.
