  • Prince Harry could regret his decision to quit the royal family
  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Megxit was scandalously negligent and hurtful
  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are happier following Megxit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit the royal family seemed to come out of nowhere. But the truth is that the royal couple thought long and hard before announcing their bombshell exit.

While speaking with Express, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that it’s only a matter of time before the Duke of Sussex regrets the tough call that he made in January.

“In Harry’s speeches and on their website, they have made clear their resentment at the way they feel they have been treated, as well as their relief in what they see as freedom. With their global profile and top celebrity contacts they should be able to thrive but at a cost. Harry is giving up what he has been trained to do and may one day regret it,” he said.

The royal commentator went on to say that the royal couple’s announcement about stepping back without first consulting Queen Elizabeth was scandalously negligent and extremely hurtful. It also strengthened the already very public falling out they have with the British clan.

Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit also proved that the things that the former used to value already changed.

“If Harry has regrets about losing so much that he has been brought up to value, his priorities now reflect the fact that he undoubtedly has changed and Megxit, however badly handled, reflects this,” he said.

But the royal expert couldn’t deny the fact that Prince Harry and Markle seemed happier and more relaxed when they returned to London last week for a series of engagements. The royal couple is also free from a great burden of their previous lives as senior royals.

Following Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit, the Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton have become the inner core of the royal family together with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
