  • Archie Harrison won't make royal debut at the Trooping Colour
  • Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis made their royal debut at the event
  • This year's Trooping the Colour has been canceled

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie will miss out on a royal debut that his cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis experienced.

According to Express, Archie won’t be making an appearance at the Trooping the Colour, which is held to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s birthday. Since the United Kingdom is on lockdown and gatherings with a lot of people are being discouraged, the event is expected to also be postponed until further notice.

“In line with Government advice, it has been agreed that The Queen’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour will not go ahead in its traditional form. A number of other options are being considered, in line with relevant guidance,” a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace said.

In recent years, Prince William and Kate Middleton had the opportunity to introduce their three children to the public at the said event. Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s youngest son charmed the crowd when he waved at them from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Meanwhile, Trooping the Colour isn’t the only royal event that will be canceled due to the deadly coronavirus. Royal garden parties won’t also push through until further notice. This means that Princess Beatrice’s wedding on May 29 has also been canceled.

The Maundy Service event at St. George’s Chapel on April 9 won’t also push through. Every year, the Queen commemorates the event by offering alms to retired pensioners recommended by clergy and ministers of all denominations.

Her Majesty also canceled the upcoming visit of the emperor and empress of Japan in the spring.

“After consultation with Her Majesty’s Government and the Government of Japan, Her Majesty The Queen has agreed that, in the current circumstances, the planned State Visit to the United Kingdom in Spring 2020 by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan should be postponed. The State Visit will be rescheduled at a later date,” the statement read.
