Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden were proud parents as they introduced their newborn son for the first time to the world on Monday. Prince Alexander made his first high profile public debut outside the royal palace in Stockholm. Royal fans were thrilled to see the baby prince.

This year new parents Sofia and Carl Philip were given the honor to open the palace gates to members of the public as part of Sweden’s national day celebrations. The couple lead the festivities, greeted royal watchers outside the palace and waved to crowds, with Sofia, 31, proudly showing off her son Alexander.

Sofia was dressed in the traditional dress of Sweden in blue and yellow color. The bright folk outfit consisted of a blue dress worn over a white collared shirt, and a mustard-colored apron. The outfit featured embroidered flowers, and the brunette beauty paired it with white tights and low heels.

Her long brunette tresses were left loose over her shoulders in a center part. Her flawless make-up consisted of natural shades with a slick of pale pink lipstick. Meanwhile, Carl Philip looked dapper in a gray suit and blue tie.

The new mother looked happy cradling her six-week-old baby boy. The new mom looked at Alexander lovingly and waved to the crowds while her husband Carl Philip, 37, stood next to her. Alexander looked adorable in a white outfit, wrapped in a gray blanket and wore cute shoes, while his parents posed for photos.

It is the first public engagement the baby prince attended since he was born in April. Sweden celebrates its national day on June 6 every year, with the royal family leading the festivities. They open the palace gates and invite the public to tour the royal residence.
