Princess Sofia of Sweden looked stunning in a pale blue knee-length dress at the thanksgiving service of newborn nephew Prince Oscar in the Royal Chapel on Thursday. The 31-year-old princess is expecting her first child with husband prince Carl Philip. She came for the service along with the 36-year-old prince.

Sofia, who is known for her sense of style all over the world and especially in Sweden, opted for the pale blue dress by a local designer for the occasion. Her dress was custom-made by Swedish designer Ida Lanto. The knee-length dress featured long sleeves, delicate white lace detailing, a slit on the back and a round neckline.

The Swedish royal paired her form-fitting dress with black suede high heels and a black Diane Von Furstenberg clutch bag. Her clutch is a Sutra Embossed Lizard clutch by the designer. She accessorized with a veiled fascinator in pale blue, while her dark tresses were left loose in side part.

The pale blue color of Sofia’s dress was a nod to her new royal nephew. Alternately, it could reportedly be an announcement of their baby — most probably a prince who is due in April.

Carl Philip, meanwhile, looked dapper in a black morning suit paired with a crisp white shirt, matching waistcoat and a pale blue tie that matched with his wife’s dress. He topped off his ensemble with dark gray striped trousers, white pocket square and a pair of black lace-up shoes.

The royal couple have not revealed the sex of their baby in keeping with tradition followed by the Swedish royal family. The couple told in the U.S. earlier during a short break that the sex of the baby would be a surprise. Meanwhile, Sofia’s sister-in-law Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to her second child — a son on Wednesday.
