A prisoner incarcerated in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, said he killed Tupac Shakur in 1994. Dexter Isaac, who is serving a life sentence for murdering a cab driver for pay, alleged in a confession posted on the website AllHipHop.com yesterday that he was hired by rap music manager James Rosemond, aka Jimmy Henchman, to kill Shakur outside Quad Studios in New York City. Isaac said he was paid $2,500 to kill the superstar rapper.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department told the New York Post that the police plan to interview Rosemond regarding his statement.

The 46-year-old has been behind bars for 13 years.

Shakur was indeed attacked outside Quad Studios in November 1994, but he recovered from the five bullet wounds he received in the attack. The rapper was shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996, and his murder has not been solved.
