Prom Couple Jaden Smith, Amandla Stenberg Both Wear Dresses

American actor and rapper Jaden Smith attended a prom with actress Amandla Stenberg from “The Hunger Games” on Friday. The 16-year-old son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith worked a head-turning look in a midi-length white skirt under a long black tunic and a loose black blazer. He topped off the look with black pants, sneakers, and fingerless white gloves.

Though Jaden’s outfit is a bit more understated, he accessorized it perfectly with snazzy white gloves and sneakers in a black and white combination.

For her part, Amandla, 16, looked trendy, sporting long silver braids, a septum piercing, and natural-looking makeup. Her metallic halter dress was equally stunning, though conventional and matched beautifully next to Jaden’s shift dress. “Here's to high school,” the actress documented the prom experience on Instagram, writing next to a picture of the duo posing outdoors. “Gentleman,” she captioned another snap, showing Jaden sniffing his white rose boutonniere, according to MTV.

This isn’t the first time Jaden’s prom look made headlines this year. Earlier this month, Jaden attended prom with friend Mecca Kalani wearing a white Batman suit. He did the same for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Italian wedding in 2014.

The junior Smith is known for his affinity for out-of-the-ordinary dressing and his gender-neutral fashion sense. In a recent interview with Billboard earlier this year, the teen admitted that he tries to be innovative in terms of fashion and do things that people have never seen before and say things that people have never heard before. Jaden has his own clothing and lifestyle brand called MSFTSrep. The clothes range from hoodies and T-shirts to trousers and vests. In May 2013 Smith collaborated with a South Korean designer, Choi Bum Suk, to create a pop-up store in which customers can buy clothes with their collaborated logos.

The “Karate Kid” actor is a trendsetter as far as fashion is concerned and likes to be hip. He is not the only one to have sported the skirt dress. The outfit has been worn earlier by celebrities like rapper Kanye West, actor Jared Leto and Sean "Diddy" Combs. Besides, high-end fashion brands like Givenchy are bringing out full ranges of clothes for guys who think they can rock a skirt.
