Queen Elizabeth II, who had been battling heavy cold over the last few weeks, will visit Fiji Exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich on Jan. 27. The British monarch had skipped the annual royal holiday celebrations, including Christmas and New Year services, due to health issues.

On Sunday, the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh appeared for church services at St. Mary’s Church in Flitcham, England, following the death of Lord Snowdon, who died Friday at the age of 86. The outing marked only the second time the 90-year-old has stepped out since her illness last month.

The queen made her first public appearance of 2017 last Sunday when she attended the morning church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk.

Last month, the queen stepped down as patron from more than 20 national organizations, passing on the responsibilities to other royal members including Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry.

However, the decision to step down was not due to health concerns but followed the example set by the Duke of Edinburgh who broke formal ties with some of his patronages on the occasion of his 90th birthday in 2011, the Buckingham Palace said in a statement at the time.

Meanwhile, the longest serving monarch's health issues gave rise to concerns over who would succeed her to the throne. The queen's illness also gave rise to rumors of her death, while some reports claimed she may decide to give up her royal duties.

In case Queen Elizabeth II dies or abdicates, her son Prince Charles will take the throne. The Prince of Wales is first in line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, who would be succeeded by his son Prince George.
