No family gets its portraits done like the Royal Family.

In honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday year, the family has shared the first look of an adorable portrait featuring The Queen and her son, Prince Charles. The photo was shared on the official Instagram account of the Prince Of Wales.

Taken earlier this year at Windsor Castle, the photo shows The Queen sitting upright on a chair and wearing a set of gleaming pearls and a turquoise jacquard dress. She also wears a set of pearl earrings, a watch, her wedding ring and minimal makeup. Meanwhile, her son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles, gazes at her adoringly. It gives a sneak peek into the mother-son relationship.

Photographer Nick Knight shot the photo shortly before the family attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Windsor Castle in spring. Knight said about the picture (via Entertainment Tonight), “I wanted to create a modern portrait that showed warmth and humanity as well as strength and tradition.”

The Queen is gaining more popularity after the Netflix series “The Crown” was released this year and has already won a Critics Choice Award. It has also been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards including Best Drama. The show chronicles of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, from her wedding in 1947 to her accession. Season 1 traced her life until 1955. Claire Foy plays the titular character.

The Queen isn’t the only Royal Family member making headlines. The growing relationship between “Suits” actress Meghan Markle and Prince Charles’ son, Harry, is continuing to capture the public’s attention. The 32-year-old royal was seen shopping for Christmas trees with the 35-year-old actress. He then drove her to London’s Heathrow airport where she took a flight back to her residence in Toronto. Indeed, reports claim that he is more serious about Markle than any other girlfriend he has had in the past.
