Queen Letizia of Spain is on annual summer holiday with her family. During a photo shoot Monday, the 42-year-old style icon was dressed in semi-formal clothing and looked relaxed. The queen went casual in khaki green trousers and a patterned white sleeveless top, which matched the one that her youngest daughter, Princess Sofia, wore.

The queen, her husband -- King Felipe VI -- and the couple’s two daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, touched down in Mallorca for their annual summer holiday. It’s been less than two weeks since her grandfather died, but the royal managed to put on a brave face at an official photo shoot. The queen, who was very close to her grandfather, Francisco Rocasolano, greeted the media and waved to photographers, Hello reported.

Letizia managed a smile for the cameras supported by her family at Marivent Palace, on the island of Mallorca . The 8-year-old and her older sister, Leonor, 9, were in high spirits and shared sweet moments with their parents. Leonor was dressed in pink and white floral top and brown shorts. The girls wore glittery, ankle strap flats. Meanwhile, Felipe wore a pale blue shirt and navy trousers and sported a thick beard. He paired his look with brown loafers.

The Spanish royals usually spend their summers in Mallorca, where they relax in their palace or their lush gardens and take in the local sights. The holiday has come as a welcome break for Letizia, who lost her grandfather at the end of July. He died after suffering from heart problems in a hospital in Salamanca -- just an hour’s drive from Madrid.

The 98-year-old had supported his royal granddaughter – who he called “sweet, smart and very normal” – on several high-profile occasions. He attended her wedding in 2004 when she married the then-Prince Felipe VI and became the Princess of Asturias and Spain’s future queen. He also attended the baptisms of Princesses Leonor and Sofia. Francisco’s last most notable appearance was in July 2014 when Felipe ascended the throne after his dad King Juan Carlos I abdicated.
