Rachel Bilson unveiled her new online shoe shop, ShoeMint.com, on Black Friday.

The petite beauty is known as a style icon in her own right. From her eye for vintage to her professional work with Karl Lagerfeld, Bilson knows fashion. She is putting her acute knowledge to good use with ShoeMint.

Bilson paired up with stylist Nicole Chavez and partnered with shoe mogul Steve Madden and BeachMint to create the customized shopping Web site.

As a designer, I'm always exploring new mediums and footwear is a category I've always been very passionate about, Bilson said.

More and more, people are shopping for shoes online and with BeachMint, I have the opportunity to design not just the shoes, but the full experience for our customers, which feels more personal and rewarding for me, she added.

Here is how it works: First you must take a personal style quiz for the system to determine your fashion particulars. Once you do this, you then sign up for the ShoeMint program, free of charge. Each month Bilson and Chavez will pick shoes for your individual style. You can choose to buy the shoes for $79.98 or skip the month for free.

Bilson and Chavez have had a hand in designing the shoes, which are made by Steve Madden.  The shoes will be made of leather and suede, available in sizes 5-11.

The 30-year-old Heart of Dixie actress is also working with the site to provide personal styling tips and behind-the-scenes access to users.

Bilson has dipped her foot into the fashion industry pool before. She teamed up with DKNY in 2008 to design a line for the company's jean label. She was also a guest fashion contributor for InStyle magazine.
