Rachel Lindsay was not prepared when she chose the final man for her season in “The Bachelorette.”

For those following the ABC dating shows “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” the hardest part for the star is always the moment when they have to send one suitor home from the remaining two or three. Lindsay, 32, learned it herself when she’s left with Bryan Abasolo, 37, Peter Kraus, 31, and Eric Bigger, 29. A source told Us Weekly that “The Bachelorette” star’s breakup with her runner-up was “brutal.”

“When it gets down to the finale and the final two guys, the last breakup is the most heart-wrenching of all time. They couldn’t say goodbye, and even when they did there were so many tears from her. After she left, he collapsed and sobbed,” the source said. “She was torn until the very end. It’s brutal to watch this breakup — worst breakup in years on this show.”

In an earlier interview, Lindsay admitted that sending his guy no. 2 home was the hardest part for her. When only three men were left, they made a connection to her in different ways. For instance, she feels she had chemistry with Kraus. He kept her interested and made her miss him too. Abasolo, meanwhile, was very open in professing his love to her. “I’ve never had a guy treat me the way that Bryan does,” Lindsay said. On the other hand, she found Bigger fun and described him as the one who “seizes the day.”

From the moment Lindsay had to send one home up to the time when she had to give the last rose, the process was difficult. “I connected with each guy and that made this so hard,” she told Us Weekly. “Honestly, I wanted to quit and run away rather than proceed.”

To help herself make a decision, Lindsay used her head. “I was like, ‘the greater the risk, the greater the reward. I knew what I wanted and I couldn’t quit,” she admitted.

In other news, Lindsay was supposed to celebrate her engagement party with “Bachelor” alums Raven Gates, Astrid Loch, Danielle Lombard, Jasmine Goode, Sarah Vendal and Alexis Waters in Punta Cana. However, “The Bachelorette” star missed her flight and did not make it.
