Rapper Erick Sermon suffered a heart attack on Saturday, but is reportedly in stable condition.

Erick Sermon had a heart attack today, DJ Scratch tweeted the same day. He's ok, but still send your prayers. He is not on Twitter.

DJ Scratch reportedly worked with Sermon and produced his seminal hip-hop EPMD duo with partner Parrish PMD Smith.

I wish yall tweet me this much when I tweet good news, tweeted Scratch, whose real name is George Spivey.

So far, there are no details about condition of the 42-year-old as he recovers.

Known as Funklord, E Double, The Green-Eyed Bandit, and MC Grand Royal, Sermon is best known for the New York-based rap duo EPMD, short for Erick and Parrish Making Dollars, and their debut album, Strictly Business. Their album featured a song of the same name based on Eric Clapton's version of Bob Marley's I Shot the Sheriff.

Sermon suffered the heart attack just days after the rap world lost an icon, Heavy D, unexpectedly outside his Beverly Hills condo on Tuesday.
