The younger brother of Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver Torrey Smith died Saturday night in a motorcycle accident.

Tevin Chris Jones, 19, was riding his motorcycle near northeast Virginia and ran off the right side of the road striking a utility pole, according to reports. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, and was wearing a helmet. Alcohol has also been ruled out as a cause of the accident.

Smith learned of his brother’s death at 2 a.m. ET Sunday morning and left the team to be with his family.

He later posted to his Twitter account: "I can't believe my little brother is gone...be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them...this is the hardest thing ever."

Smith reportedly told Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh that he wants to play Sunday night in the team’s home game versus the New England Patriots, with Harbaugh leaving it up to his young wide out.

"This is devastatingly sad, sad news. Torrey and his family are a close, special family, and our hearts and thoughts reach out to all of them. Our hearts ache today," Harbaugh said in a statement. "We pray for Tevin, his mother, Torrey and the rest of the family. God bless Tevin.

"Torrey's priority is his family. We understand that completely."
