Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 6 will be released on 20 November Capcon

Resident Evil 6, which has been developed and published by Osaka, Japan-based company Capcom, is scheduled for a Nov. 20 release.

The game is set to be released on Playstation3, Xbox 360 and, at a later date, for PC. Prior to the official announcement of the game, there were several viral teases on the Web site nohopeleft.com.

The game's storyline takes place 10 years after the Raccoon City incident and now the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place. He believes that this will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity.

Raccoon City survivor and the President's personal friend Leon S. Kennedy, who is due to be by the side of the President, in the turn of events when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, is forced to face a fully transformed president. Meanwhile, Chris Redfield, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member, arrives in Hong Kong which, itself, is under bioterrorist attack.

Very little is known about the game but a few things can be judged and estimated by watching the game's official video.

One of the first things about the game that is noticeable is that there are multiple protagonists in the game. Parts of gameplay have shown as many as three in-game characters who could be playable characters. Now it is to be seen if there will be multiple levels for each of these characters, and if the game will be evenly divided between them.

One thing's for certain, the zombies this time are badder than what the gamers experienced in the previous Resident Evil games. The usual concept of zombies with ugly teeth, huge tongues and weird tentacles have given way to the standard definition of zombies - simply, classic walking corpse. However, the zombies will still leap on you so be alert.

Apart from that, expect bigger zombies. The cutscenes from the official trailer shows a gargantuan creature which is a product of the ongoing bioterrorism. You may even compare it to the size of the Godzilla that takes a lot of ammunition to deal with. The safety of the character has also been compromised this time as temporary covers will not provide you a safe passage like it used to previously. Hence, the moral of the story: You can run, but you can't hide.

While some have also speculated that Ashley Graham, the President's daughter from Resident Evil 4, will make a comeback and play a major role in finding out about the bioterrorists who killed her father, others have raised questions about a new character (the one with a scar on his cheek). He is seen as the one who is being chased both by bad guys and monsters, and the one who beats the creatures to death without any weapon. He may also have special powers and a special kind of blood.

Finally, rest assured that you will fight zombies as well as living humans, the bioterrorists who are using the chemicals created by the Umbrella Corporation. Nothing more is known about these guys.
