On Sunday night, the long-rumored relationship between Drake and Rihanna was all but confirmed when Drake presented Riri with the MTV VMAs Video Vanguard Award. After surprising the “Work” singer with a congratulatory billboard on Aug. 26, Drizzy delivered a heartfelt speech Rihanna and even got to meet the singer’s family.

In videos uploaded to Rihanna’s Snapchat, Drake can be seen accompanying Rihanna backstage after receiving her award. Awaiting Rihanna were friends and family, including her mother Monica Braithwaite, grandfather Lionel Braithwaite and younger brother Rajad Fenty. It’s uncertain if the “Controlla” rapper has ever met the singer’s family before, but it’s the first time they’ve been captured together.

Before meeting the family, Drake gave a lengthy speech for the singer as he presented her award. “The first time I met Robyn Fenty was in 2005,” said Drake, referencing his appearance in a Rihanna music video. "The song was ‘Pon de Replay’ and the director of the video was Little X. I was introduced to her as the kid who played background music at the restaurant as people ate at their dinner. It's hard to believe that 11 years later all three of us would come together to create the visual for a song called ‘Work.’”

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” Drake added, proceeding to hand Rihanna her award and giving her a hug. But the two didn’t stop there. Following the show, Drake posted a photo of him giving Rihanna a kiss with a caption that read: “This is a night for us all to be thankful for what you have done for us! You have affected so many of our lives in the best way possible. Tonight we celebrate you!”

While the two have yet to officially confirm a relationship, their public displays of affection are becoming more and more frequent. Rihanna has been asked about Drake before but has always avoided the question. During a Febuary appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Ellen hinted at a relationship with Drake, but Rihanna avoided the topic, only saying, “I would love to go on tour with Drake. That has to happen.”
